I’m sending a heartfelt “thank you” to everyone who checked out Cierre la Boca last week.
We launched the blog on Monday, August 16th and as of last night, here are a few of the latest stats.
1. We posted 4 blog entries.

D. “My Marshall Plan” for Educating Children in America.
2. Roughly 200 people, in 5 states, representing 3 countries, spanning 2 continents, and speaking in 2 languages visited www.cierrelaboca.com.
3. The average time guests spent on our site was nearly 20 minutes.
4. We gained more than 60 followers on Twitter. Week 1 followers on www.twitter.com/cierrelaboca include the National Association for the Education of Young Children (@NAEYC), the National Women’s Law Center (@nwlc), Professional Learning Board (@TeacheResource), and DonorsChoose (@DonorsChoose).
5. Nearly 80 videos have been posted to www.youtube.com/cierrelaboca.
6. We launched The C.L.B. Report, the ed news multimedia site at www.clbreport.tumblr.com.
7. We maintained a core commitment to our mission; reminding people (of all stripes) that every facet of American culture impacts the direction and quality of our educational system.
I’m truly grateful for the success of our first week. I’m equally excited about our prospects for Week 2. While we made significant gains last week, the fact remains that, in the U.S., 7,000 students—on average—drop out of high school each day during a calendar year.
Let’s remember that it takes a shared vision and collective effort to transform ideas into change…to spark kinetic from potential energy.
