Adults often observe the landscape of youth and say things like, “Those kids know the words to every rap song, but I’ll bet you they can’t tell you their multiplication tables!”

Often, sadly, this is true.  But instead of simply stopping at that assessment, why not “brainstorm” and develop creative ways to tap into their “existing knowledge base”?
